Area Hotels

I wasn't sure which board to post this on, so I figured I would start here. I live in NC and will be traveling to several home games this year. In the past we have either made the trek there and back in one day, or have stayed down the road in Radford or Dublin. Last year we stayed at the Comfort Inn in Christiansburg and had a great experience but of course the rates were astronomical because of the game. My question is, do any of you have advice as to where is the best place to stay for the money, but without sleeping with bugs? The Days Inn, Super 8, etc have rooms available at a decent rate. Has anyone hotel hopped and had experiences they could share with me? I'm hoping not to have to make the trip in one day every time we come this year. Thanks! :)
